Brenda MacDonald is a well-known music educator and singer who is politically active. She has been ‘working’ for her neighbours in Ward 19 of Toronto, by staying informed and informing others in her ward. Brenda is running for councillor, because of concerns for traffic, inappropriate development and inconsistent service from our current city council in Ward 19.
The coming election brings many new issues to Ward 19. Green space and Parks in Toronto, Traffic, Development, Transit, Core Infrastructure, as well as, PUBLIC LAND, WATER and ASSETS are all on the minds of Torontonians. Citizens of Toronto should be better informed about upcoming development proposals and ANY changes to our parks, water infrastructure, and PUBLIC spaces.
“I put my good name forward to represent you – the taxpayers in Ward 19! This is a service I take very seriously, and with ‘no party affiliation’, to cloud my judgment.”
As a hard-working facilitator and educator, Brenda brings strong community representation to City Hall with over 30 years combined work experience in music education, special education, building facilities and maintenance. Brenda is energetic, highly motivated and an empathetic person with excellent leadership skills. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at York University and Attended Humber College of Art and Design. “We can have representation as Taxpayers at City Hall. Our voice can be heard.”
I can demonstrate fiscal responsibility in setting priorities for Ward 19 – A PLAN OF ACTION. Communication is key.
I can engage taxpayers in a timely and courteous manner, while delivering core services fairly and efficiently. I can communicate effectively with Taxpayers on issues that matter to all of us. I can work with all the communities together to find the most effective and efficient communication tools to help Taxpayers navigate proposed changes to our infrarstructure planning, investment and shared development of our great city.
I will work with ANY Mayor, ALL Councillors, ALL Departments and Associations involving the City of Toronto and the Province of Ontario. This requires strong co-ordination and communication with all stakeholders including Toronto Hydro, Toronto Water, Toronto Region Conservation Authority, Toronto Police Service and Emergency Medical Services. Excellent relationships with the Toronto District School Board, Toronto Catholic District School Board, Toronto Transit Commission and Port Authority of Toronto is essential to the citizens of Toronto and Ward 19.
I will work with council to develop a long-term approach to proposed changes to our infrastructure planning, investment and shared development of our great city!
